Lloyd Harlin Polite Jr. (or more commonly referred to as Lloyd) was born on January 3, 1986, in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S., to Lloyd Polite Sr. and Robin Polite. His father died when he was at the age of two, and he moved with his mother and older sister Brandy to Atlanta, Georgia. He was discovered by Joyce Irby and then made a member of the preteen group N-Toon.
